“When nothing seems to help, I go and look at a stonecutter hammering away at his rock perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred and first blow, it will split in two and I know it was not that blow that did it, but all that had gone before.”
Associate Attorney Hugh O’Sullivan has an extensive background as a civil defense attorney that gives him a unique perspective on the way insurance companies respond to the personal injury claims of our clients. He recognizes the challenges associated with dealing with insurance company defendants and the need for our clients to have an experienced, competent, and determined advocate willing to work to protect their rights and interests.
Mr. O’Sullivan graduated from Fairview High School in Boulder and then headed east to attend a small college in Philadelphia, PA where, in addition to his studies, he played basketball, baseball, and lacrosse. Following his graduation from college, Mr. O’Sullivan joined the Teamsters and spent several years working for the United Parcel Service in Harrisburg, PA before enrolling in law school.
After graduating from the School of Law at Washington University in St. Louis, Mr. O’Sullivan joined one of the oldest and most highly-regarded defense firms in St. Louis as an associate attorney. Mr. O’Sullivan defended workers compensation and personal injury claims for clients that included hospitals, busing companies, car rental companies, department stores, and the Missouri Department of Transportation. While practicing in Missouri and Illinois, Mr. O’Sullivan presided at more than 50 administrative trials as lead counsel and argued multiple cases before the Missouri Courts of Appeals. This experience affords Mr. O’Sullivan a valuable perspective while advocating for his injured clients.
After years of living and working in the Midwest, Mr. O’Sullivan has finally been able to return home to his beloved Colorado. In his spare time, Mr. O’Sullivan enjoys spending time with family and friends. He has three furry children – a puppy and two cats. Mr. O’Sullivan is a movie buff and a sports junkie who, despite his advanced age, continues to play basketball, softball, golf, and, occasionally, corn-hole.
